Preparing Your Long Hair System for Removal
The removal process for a hair system is simple. However, there are some quick steps we recommend you take prior to removal in order to protect long hair.
During the removal process and the base cleaning process that follows, the hair in your system is exposed to solvents, base cleaners and soaps. Preparation of your system has little to do with the actual removal process, but everything to do with protecting the hair from these harsh chemicals. In the steps that follow, our recommendation is to braid long hair to prevent absorbing chemicals into the hair and to immensely reduce tangling. You’ll need very basic braiding experience to complete this process.
- 4-5 hair bands
- Wide-tooth comb
Step 1: Comb the hair
While your hair system is still dry, use a wide-tooth comb to thoroughly comb the hair and remove any knots or tangles.
Step 2: Prepare the hair system
Part the hair in your system in the center and secure it into two pigtails, one on each side of your head. Braid each pigtail and finish each one with another hair band.
Step 3: Secure your growing hair
If your growing hair is long, pull it back into a low ponytail to secure it out of the way to make the removal process easier.
Once the hair is sufficiently secured in braids, proceed with the normal hair system removal process.
