Directions
Shampoo hair. After rinsing shampoo – saturate hair with Nearly Natural Softening Solution – then apply Nearly Natural Conditioner (do not rinse Softening Solution prior to applying conditioner). Leave conditioner in hair up to 1 minute then rinse. Proceed with styling.

For very dry systems the Softening Solution works at its best when rinsed with cool water and after a long deep conditioning (leaving conditioner in the hair overnight for a really dried out system) While the hair is still wet after washing/conditioning- ALWAYS PUT NATURAL OILS BACK INTO THE HAIR SYSTEM to prevent tangling /drying . Natural oils should be put back into a hairsystem several times a week to avoid tangling and breakage.

This product is terrible! I used this with the recommended nearly natural conditioner (and without) and both uses left my hair a big, knotted mess. My hair felt nasty, like I just swam in heavy chlorinated water. I couldn't comb through it and even after it dried it still tangled easily and had to be constantly brushed. Terrible product

I bought this product based on the majority of the reviews were good. My hair was actually gotten worse since using it. My hair was dry like hair systems gets at about the 3 month mark so I used it and followed the instructions exactly. Now 10 minutes after I brush my hair, and I am not exaggerating, my hair is a tangled mess particularly at the back of my head. I have to wear my hair in a ponytail now.

What's with the five stars?
I could swear that my bottle had been filled with water. It didn't do a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g to my hair, doesn't smell anything, put some between my fingers and it felt and had the texture of water, even tasted it on the very tip of my thong (believe it or not) and it still tasted like water.

HD customers really seem to love the NN products so I think that they work for most people. Unfortunately, after using nearly 2 bottles, I didn't feel that it did anything for my hair. I have found other products that work much better for me.

I'm not a researcher, but as a hair system wearer with HD, this product, i can't do without. I use at least 3 times a week and for the "feel" of my hair, i can tell the difference when i use it and when i don't. i leave it in for as long as 15-20 minutes along with my conditioner, rinse, and then style.
