The Buzz at HairDirect.com - November 2009
It’s that time of year. Thinking about a ‘do-over? Choosing a Hairstyle

Seems no sooner than the Halloween decorations go back in the closet, “Jingle Bells” starts invading our ear drums. Tis the season yet again. And it's the perfect time to freshen up your look. Just like holiday cookies, hairstyles get stale, too.

If you’re making a resolution to look better in the new year, don't forget your hair! Here we've got a couple handy tips and tools to help.

Using our faceshape guide and hairstyle gallery to get the merriest of looks

What’s the shape of your face? If it seems like an odd question, remember that hairstyles are really about shapes. They put a frame around your face and bring it balance. With the right hairstyle you can compliment your face’s positive features and play down others that make you duck mirrors.

Check out these common face shapes and compare them to your own. Don’t worry if your face isn’t an exact match to the shapes on the chart. You’re just trying to get a general idea.

7 Common Faceshapes
Did You Know? Heart-shaped faces favor longer styles; diamonds work with pretty much anything and many agree oval shapes are most pleasing to the eye. Wanna know more?

George Clooney can get you the perfect hairstyle

Getting nitty-gritty hair specs just right can be tough when you order direct. So instead of spending tons of time worrying about all the smaller details that go into achieving your look (stuff like lengths, density, wave/curl and ventilation) we suggest you take the easy route:
  1. Pick a hairstyle photo. It can be a shot of a celebrity (yes, the 'Clooney' is a popular look these days) an old picture of you with hair or something from our hairstyle gallery.
  2. Allow your stylist or hair tech to tackle the specs. They can make order suggestions based on your photo and final look you're going for.
  3. Find a factory that provides styling and cut-ins. We know, sounds crazy at first. But having the hair selection, ventilation, cutting and styling done all at once, under one roof, makes things a lot simpler (which means you get a more consistent look).
So if a fresh new head of hair is in Santa’s bag this year, tis the season to start thinking about what your hair will look like when you put it on.
