  • Density question

Does anyone know an easy way to check the density of a new lace unit? How can one know for sure weather it is 80% or not, for example? Thanks Karl

Great tips. Thanks Jobell. If one is trying to get the tape to stick better, it is less important to keep the conditioner off of the lace once the unit is attached? Is it easier to control the conditioner if the excess water is blotted off first? Karl

What is a good technique for conditioning only the hair and not the base? That doesn't seem possible, especially when the unit is attached. Karl

Ok back to my original question. Would it help the adhesion, if I only shampooed the brand-new unit, and condition it in the shower after the piece was attached to my head? Karl

The sticking problem only seems to happen with a brand new unit. This does not happen with every new system. I am sure that it was dry because I shampooed and conditioned it the day before. It was blown dry and allowed to sit for about 24 hours. I have a full lace unit and I use Blue Lace Tape. I've had the same trouble with SupeTape as well on ...

  • Tape Did Not Stick.

I had a little bit of trouble recently when I tried to apply tape to a brand new unit. It just wouldn't stick. Was this a problem because I shampooed and conditioned the unit? Should I shampoo and condition after I apply it to my head. Any suggestions? Karl

  • Re: Disposable systems

Most people say that the actual hold time of most tapes and adhesives is considerably shorter than advertised. Many people reattach their systems on a weekly basis. This is because one's shaved area under the lace begins to grow and can start to itch. This method is healthful because it allows your scalp to revitalize when the unit if off for a ...

  • Cut Clean Up Time?

I've been wearing hair from HD since last October and feel comfortable with the De and Re. The only thing is the time it takes to do everything. Do any of you experienced wearers have tips to shorten the process? For example: Is it easier to alternate between the units and do the cleaning at a separate time? That is take one off and put another ...

  • FRAYING LACE

I wear a full lace system and I have been having a little trouble with fraying at the hairline. I have dark hair and the edge looks like it has stubby blond hairs coming out of the base. This is sometimes very noticable. I have tried trimming the lace with very sharp scissors, but found this to be too difficult because it is almost impossible for ...
