Okay, I know what you're thinking - HL has finally gone totally 'round the bend, right? Wrong-o. So, what could losing weight possibly have to do with a full cap hair replacement system? Plenty and I'm finding out first hand.
I have finally begun to lose weight after much effort (at my age, it takes more effort than usual ). It's really great when clothes start to fit much better and then start to get loose and all of the other wonderful things that come with getting in shape. Guess what, though... When one's waist starts to shrink - SO DOES ONE'S HEAD!! If, like me, you wear a full cap system, this can be worse than a 5 alarm fire. So, what's a person to do??
Well, looks like I'm going to have to order a new system earlier than anticipated - but, that's the second thing. The first thing is that I'm going to have to redo my head measurements - smaller dress/pants size = smaller cap size.
But what does one do when one has to wait about 6-10 weeks for a new system? Nip and tuck. That's right...take a little nip here and a small tuck there. It looks like I've lost about a 1/2 inch total head circumference at this point (will know more when I redo my measurements at the next de- and re-), so it isn't catastrophic yet, but as I lose more weight I'm definitely going to have to do some alterations, particularly to my full lace unit. When the time comes to take it in, I'm going to take pictures of the process. I used to make all of my own clothes and did some pretty mean tailoring, too, so this shouldn't be terribly hard to do.
Now, keep in mind that the smaller head size may not be an issue if you're losing that stubborn extra 5 or 10 pounds. I'm actually about 40 pounds overweight, so we're talking some serious loss of inches here. So, when you're undertaking a long-term program to get back into shape and losing some serious pounds, keep in mind that as your clothes get loose, your hair system might do the same thing and plan accordingly.
For those wearing partial systems, be sure that you check your hair loss area against the shape and size of your system. You may have to do a little trimming, but just remember that as you check your body measurements, be sure to check your hair loss area measurements as well.
Smaller body, smaller head size - who knew?? Surprise, surprise, surprise!

WOW!!
I had no idea that your head size could get smaller too as you lose weight!!
But hey, Congrats on doing that!!

You are absolutely CORRECT!!!! Unfortunately, I have had the exact opposite happen. I've gained weight so my hairpiece where I have clips in the back is starting to pull up because the back of my head (and neck) area have gotten larger so the fit isn't precise any longer.
I guess it's time to get a new hairpiece and ALSO time to lose weight!

Wow!! I never would have guessed that would happen, but it makes sense.......
Congrats on the weight loss!!!
