Hi to everyone in hair piece land !
I have been wearing hair systems for around 10 years now. I am a member of a hair club and have been for that length of time to the same one however I am going to make the transition a nd purchase direct. I currently attend NEW IMAGE CONSULTANTS in Morley near Leeds W.Yorkshire. My wife has her own salon, she cuts, styles and colours my hair so I would be better off buying direct.
Does anyone know of New Image ?
I currently use the skin/membrain type stystem were the hair is V looped into the graft . The system hasn't changed in the last 10 years so I supose it is ancient compared to the newer systems, but I am still happy with it as you can see my scalp and the graft is very thin, I think new image buy them from the states.
Anyway my question is on bonding as the girls at the salon use a tape that is stuck to the piece were they then put perfector plus direct onto the tape and then heat it up with a hair dryer before placing onto the scalp. This then lasts around 5 to 6 weeks.
When I attend for a refit they have to get a pair of clippers and shave my own hair that has grown into the tape as it would not come off, the bond is great however it can get a bit gooey when it starts break down around week 4/5.
Does anyone know what the tape is ? All I know is that it comes in a roll and has to be cut to size.

I must say that I have just used perfector on its own but I only get around 3 weeks on a poly base. As time goes by the hold tends to get stronger and stronger peaking around week 3/4 then after this it slowly breaks down. I am wondering whether it's due to my own hair growing into the tape thats helps with the bond. There is no movement with the tape even when it's ready to come off. I will ask next time I visit what it is called, I will also ask if they let me see what it looks like before it is applied.I will say that when the unit is being removed itis quite painful due to my hair growth into the tape.
