Hair replacement systems custom-made anddelivered to your door. 100% guaranteed!
Hi everyone,
I've been wearing my first full-cap system for several months now (see avatar picture) and I am going to order a new system soon. I'm thinking of adding gray hair to my next full cap hair system as I am getting up there in age and I am thinking it is time to slowly start adding gray to give me a more natural look.
I'd be interested in hearing from HD women here who have ordered gray hair. What percentage of gray did you order? I'm thinking 10% but maybe that is too much too fast. I don't want to look too old!
Thanks,
Dora

Hi Dora!
I don't know how old you are, but I think you look just fine now. I wouldn't go by your age to start adding gray hair. Some people don't look their age. Maybe you can ask a few close friends what they think. Most women I know want to COVER their gray!

Dora,
I have a suggestion...why not order some lighter highlights? That is what I am planning on when I have to make the transition. Your tech can recommend a color combination that includes the gray, but may also have some blonde and lighter browns in it too! That way, it will be very subtle and you can increase it at the same rate you want to "age" your look!
I wouldn't recommend adding a lot of gray, it looks good, but I believe it's also synthetic which is a huge difference from human hair! Maybe a tech can check on the answer to that, but I'm fairly certain it is...

Not born with hair, but I've gotthe intelligence to find it, the money to pay for it, the patience to "stick" it on just right, the will to make it work, the confidence to wear it boldlyand the smile to wear under it!
Hi Camille,
I'm old enough to have a 16 year old grandson. I'll let you do the math. But maybe you're right and I should hold on as long as I can. I wasn't thinking of a drastic move to gray, just over the next 10 years or so slowly add it in so it appears to be a natural cycle. Good advice on asking friends. I will do that.
Hi DoraKay,
Another suggestion would be to only add a bit of grey (5% ish) in the temple and side areas where most people start to grey. You wouldn't have to add it all over, just in those 2 areas. This would be subtle and ease you into it slowly. I like Babe's suggestion also about adding a bit of highlights. I just wanted to give you another alternative.
You definately don't look old enough to have a 16 yr. old grandchild!

I didn't think of adding in gray hair to specific areals. Another good idea. Thanks Lisa. -Dora
Hi, Dora,
I hope you don't mind a male reply. I personally feel that nothing makes a person look older than gray hair. My wife is older than you, and she still goes blond and people think she's 10 or 15 years younger than she is. This is, of course, my opinion. You have to decide what you want to see in the mirror. If you want to add gray or any other color, it is up to you. The nice thing about wearing hair is you have complete control over it.

Hi Dora,
Most of us fight to get rid of our gray, but there are women that look stunning with gray hair.
I agree that you don't have to go gray just because of your age. Put that out of your mind! However if you want to be gray go for it. You can always change it later :)
I think adding some blonde highlights is a great idea, and would look great on you.
