Hi All!
Just wanted to share with you a new and very effective technique I've recently learned for removing adhesive from the front lace.
I used to soak my units in a tuppaware box with adhesive remover for a couple of days before shampoo' and cleaning.
However, I've found that the most effective way of removing adhesive from lace is to hold the hairpiece against a large mirror (e.g. bathroom or wardrobe mirror) with the lace base facing towards the mirror and slide the hairpiece in a downwards motion whilst holding it tight against the mirror.
As you do this, you'll find all the adhesive comes out of the net and is left on the mirror. I've used this 'mirror slide' method for about three months now and I've never found it damages the unit or removes hair. try it and see. After all the adhesive is removed, just shampoo / condition as normal.
Cleaning the mirror is even easier - just use normal liquid window cleaner or even vinegar and a paper / kitchen towel - it only takes a minute.

Very good. Now try doing that same mirror slide with some plastic wrap over the mirror. You`ll get the same result with very clean lace, and cleaning the mirror is easy since you only need to peel the plastic wrap off.
I started using plastic wrap when I started using stronger glues, like UltraHold. That glue can be very tough to clean off the mirror. But not the plastic wrap
"......is it on straight?......."
I use the alcohol based release liquid first of all to release the tape off the lace, leaving it on the scalp. The trick here is not to leave it on too long, but that all depends on temperatures, oilyness of skins etc., so it will vary from person to person.
Using tape, should leave less residue on the lace to clean up, but again this depends on how long you leave it on and the type of tape. Blue, can be slightly messy if left on for long periods. I can get away with leaving blue on for up to two weeks without too much mess.
At the end of the day, it's a bit of trial and error I'm afraid. But certainly, the mirror or as my friend suggests, food wrap, is very good at cleaning.
Have a nice day!

i have to admit that i thought the whole mirror trick was kind of weird. but since it takes me 40 minutes just to clean the lace when i re-do my fronts, i figured i would try it. i used a small rectangular steel container instead of a mirror, since the unit was still attached to me, and it worked AMAZINGLY well!! i cant believe i had wasted all that time before without knowing this trick!! i only had to swipe it 5-6 times and almost all the residue was off. i still had to touch it up myself to get it perfect, but the clean up of the lace only took <10 minutes!!
thanks for the tip guys!
