Hi all,
Recently, I've noticed a variety of people asking questions about how to attach SuperTape to the hair system, especially with an emphasis on the front hair line. If you would like to see how I do it, click on the this link:

Hope it helps,

Thats an awesome vid dusty. love the sissors that do the scallop edge. One question, is it the same as the scallop on the hair unit.

Thanks for the kind words... I figured that the video might help out some of the newbies. (It was only a year ago when I received my very first unit and I remember thinking to myself, "Help! How do I attach this thing? How do I put tape on?, etc, etc. Thanks to all of you for your excellent help and suggestions over the past year!)
Peakbagger -- No, I looked around for quite a long time to see if I could find any scissors that matched the contour. However, nothing seemed to fit! Finally, I decided to go with Fiskars and quickly discovered that the curved edge to the tape seems to help the tape to "vanish" when applied. Not sure why, but it does for me!
Thanks Dusty for letting me know, do u find that the supertape works better on the front hairline than the glue.
Im wondering with the sissors that this is something that HD could get made or something. I know it would be a great product to have in the bag of goodies. I like the idea of putting a scallop on the tape, i was pretty impressed. And im sure that having the right edge would make it even better.
Ill start looking in the craft shops here where I am and in the city to see if i can find something, itd be pretty good if there is something out there.
Dusty,
Great video. one question do you put the tape right up to the edge of the lace or a little over it?
WOW!,
Great vid Dusty, makes me want to go back to a scalloped front edge, never could get it looking right with tape before.
Hi Peakbagger,
That's would be a great idea... That way, it would be a perfect match!
Glue vs. SuperTape - I have personally tried both. However, it seems that different people experience very different results. For me, glue worked great for attachment and hold. It had a very realistic look, but the bonding time (for me) was about the same as SuperTape, but the cleanup was a nightmare. Seemed that the glue wouldn't come out of the lace no matter what I did. (HD's high-definition glue seems to be both waterproof and "adhesive remover"-proof too. The only thing that seemed to get it out with was the mirror slide with a ton of alcohol. I used an entire bottle of "Adjust-a-bond" in one cleaning session, along with the mirror slide, just to get the sticky back out of the system.)
SuperTape gives me a week's hold too, but I could go longer, if desired. I purposely limit it to one week, as I don't want to run the risk of developing a "unique" aroma up on top. Attachment is quick, and cleanup is an absolute joy. I can have my hair system completely cleaned up in about 10 minutes (sometimes quicker.)
The only disadvantage that I know of with SuperTape is that it's a little more detectable (in my opinion) than glue, if you hair is combed back. Yet, this problem has mostly disappeared for me since I have started to scallop the tape. Not sure why... Maybe the scissors dull the tape surface as it's being cut? Who knows!
Hi Bhambomber,
I try to place the tape directly on the edge of the unit. However, sometimes, I do accidentally sometimes get it a little bit on the outside or inside.
