    Ok ....

    1. I'm for sure going with the SOP12A Disposable Hair Unit.

    2. Should I go with the Pro Flex or Super Tape? Which is stronger hold for the month? What the difference between both?

    3. I'm 25 years old and before I order my system I wanted some feed back. The Top Crown, Sides, and Back I'm going to order inbetween medium light and medium. Is that a natural density for a 25 year old.

    4. The front denstiny I'm going to order Medium Light for a more natural look for my hairline. Does it matter that i decided to go with a Medium Light in the front or should I order the Front the same as the Top Crown, Sides, and Back inbetween Medium Light and Medium.

    5. I don't know if the Front hairline is just work into the system so would it even matter by me choicing the denstiny medium light or would it look retarded by me choicing medium light density for the front and look like I'm balding, Since the rest of the system is inbetween medium light and medium. So in that case should I just order the whole system equally with the inbetween medium light and medium?

    6. There no choice for 7 inces length and that the length I want. But if I can request 7 inches is it still the same price as 8 inches 30.00????

    7. Now what does everyone think of getting scallops. I'm still really confused what is SCALLOPS???? I know it has something to do with Hairline so there fore I mark it down but can someone explain exactly what it is....???I'm sorry but as i said I'm so knew to this.

    8. Now I been reading about the TDI knot sealer...Is this necessary when I first receive the system or recommended?? If so how many time do I spray it, just that once when I receive it or everyday or every other week etc etc....??? and do I spray it under the system or in the top of the system where the hair is at??? and which knot sealer brand is the best or recommended???

    9. And for my final question.....If I'm wearing my system and the front for instance came loose and I need to do a emergency touch up how do I do that ?????? There no video here in HD for learning how to do a retouch for emergency. I'm going to order the Daylyn Waterproof Adhesive and the MAX retouch Adhesive.....As I am a flight attendant so I can only take certain products with me in the plane that is not flamable which is why I order both.

HD has been nothing but help and there customer service is the best.......And if any of the hair tech is reading this PLZ feel free to answer my questions......I'm looking for professional answer or and experience user or anyone that can help.....

    Hi Carl,

Welcome to HairDirect!  I am on the disposables program and you can take a look at my newest hair unit photos at the following link:  http://www.hairdirect.com/community/forums/thread/10490.aspx

    Now, on to your questions:

#1 - In my opinion, the disposable is a great choice, especially for absolute beginners!  This way, you have a new, fresh hair for each month.

#2 - Either tape solutions will work, but I strongly recommend that you use SuperTape instead.  SuperTape, in my opinion, is absolutely wonderful as it does not melt down and the cleanup process is very simple and quick.

#3 - Listen to your hair tech!  They know their stuff and have been in the hair industry for years.  Yes, it's very normal for a an absolute newbie to request an entire buschel of "wheat" for their head.  Yet, if you don't want people asking you if you are wearing a wig, it's best to keep it "normal" and age appropriate.  For the front, I went with light density, the middle was medium, and the back was medium light.  Thin looks very realistic, whereas "too thick" simply looks rediculous and unbelievable...

#4 - Share pics with your hair tech!  They are your best friend when it comes to getting your density right on.

#5 - Discuss this over with your hair tech...  ;-)

#6 -  Again, another hair tech question.

#7 - Scallops tend to break up the hair line, so you don't get that "detectable", perfectly-straight, fake hairline appearance across the forehead.  It makes your hair more believable.

#8 - Ask your hair tech.  Some love it, others hate it...

#9 - I've never had my hair system come unattached.  I use SuperTape and it sticks to one's scalp!  ;-)  However, the forums here have many wonderful people (with years of experience), so I am sure that someone probably has some experience with this!

Anyways, hope this somewhat helps!  Best wishes...

"Uh, oh - Is my hair on backwards??"

  • Re: New to HD never worn a hair system need help.....

Hey thanks alot. I'm just nervous. Being a newbie to all this is kinda scary. But i really have confidence in HD all the way. For months I been doing my investigation on who to go with. At the end HD won my vote.

Everything here in HD has been handle professionally and accurate. I'm so excited to be doing this and have my hair back. I finally got the box kit and finish my application part. Now im going to return everything and wait for my phone call from HD hair tech.

As of now I decided to go with the disposable unit and have the front medium light and the top, sides, back im going inbetween medium light and medium, unless told different from my HD hair tech. I am going with the hair style HD043 but vented freestyle because i also plan on slicking it back as well having it center part str8 down.

Once I get my hair unit in 10 weeks i will be posting pictures and showing off my new hair here. I want to become part of the HD family, I have nothing but high confidence from HD.  And of course I finally feel confident again. I finally feel good at work since i see hundreds of people at a time. Oh yeah I am a flight attendant flying the friendly skies lol.......but ill definitely keep everyone updated on it.

    Hi Carlitos,

I think that you'll be happy and pleased with HD.  They have the incredible ability to be able to produce great-looking hair systems for people -- even though they actually never see you personally!  ;-)

Make sure you discuss all of your hair wants, needs and desires with your hair tech.  They can provide you with excellent advice.  One key piece of advice that I was told, which is very true, is that lighter density is more believable than heavier density.  I have actually lightened my hair system's density by 20% and have been very happy with it.  Also, make sure that you read both the learning section and the forums for advice.  These are your friend, when it comes to learning about applying a hair system, performing cleanup, de-attachment, etc.

    Best wishes!

  • Re: New to HD never worn a hair system need help.....

Yeah that what I been told constantly here about the hair density... That why at the end i decided to go meduim light in the front. But yeah once my HD tech gives me the call we'll see what happens then. Since there the expert I'll just listen and take there advice. I am sending several pictures of how I want to do my hair once i get it. So we'll see...Im just really excited...
  • Re: New to HD never worn a hair system need help.....

Just a quick tip about density...Idea

Although it is very important to consider age as far as density, keep in mind it is just as important to consider the amount of hair you currently have on the sides and back to get and accurate looking blend. Some people never had a huge thickness of hair and even tho they are in their 20's it would look like a hair hat to go with something with a medium light density.

If possible, include a picture of yourself. This will help your tech choose the most accurate density to look the most natural and blend the best for you.

    Have a great weekend!
