I had been told that anything with silicon cannot be used with lace bases.

So many of the daily spray in condioners say silicon or panthenol or Dimethicone or trimenticone etc... In addition to the itching it seems the front hairline that used to hold for at least 5-7 days, now come unglued at the very front after 1-2 days, both with walker ultra hold and super glue.

1 - Does the irritation have something to do with it? Because even with tape it comes unglued. There has not been any change in my routine or drastic change to the weather (sweating or anything else). The only thing that has really changed is the dermatitis.

2 - What have you folks done to resolve this Dermatitis issue? A few of them took it upon themselves to make a short little video celebrating our 18th birthday. It was something they did just because they love it here (nobody asked them to do it.)

This video was only ever meant to be seen by our staff but it is so touching and charming that we had to share! So, check it out, it's short and cute and I think you'll enjoy watching.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwhBuq1f1us

Thanks again to our staff and all of you great people at home that are loyal customers and community members. The past 18 years have been great because of you, and we're sure the next 18 will be even better for the same reason!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HD!!

Get Walker's Glue out of Hairline?

I use glue in the front; tape in the back. Today, I did a de/re and overshot where I thought the front portion of the lace would rest. I realized this after I put the unit on and noticed that a good chunk along the left-front was sticking to the hair.

I used alcohol and a comb to attempt to separate the strands. I then took some scotch tape and patted the area (my head; not the hair). This has addressed the issue, but I can still feel that there is glue in the hair. Any suggestions on how to address this?

Thanks

NEW BLOG: A Sticky Interview with Mark Tabish, Founder of True Tape

There’s more to a good hair system tape than just stickiness. At least not today. But what about cleaning these two hair types? Now some folks think any hair that’s not growing out of your head can be washed the same way, you know, the whole “a hair system is a hair system is a hair system” thing. Well, you could wind up heartbroken (and just plain broke) if that's your approach hair system cleaning. . . Read more
Proactiv Facial Wash and Lace Base

Hello All!

I have just taken the plunge after YEARS of lurking on this website, and ordered a full lace base (3/4 unit). I currently use Proactiv for my facial skin care, and wasn't sure if anyone else had any experience using this product with their hair system. The facial wash has little, "gritty," exfoliating particles in it, and I want to make sure that it doesn't do any damage to the front hairline (or the hair). Also, Benzoyl Peroxide is the main ingredient, so I wasn't sure if this could remove the hair color at all or weaken the bond.

Any thoughts?
