    Hey the hair guy

hope u had a good visit to optima, What have they said about your HDsystem? I bet they were impressed. I sopke to the owner about HD and he says they are the best and never once said anything to the contrary. now thats real customer service non sales orientated.

If you remember my saturday went realy really bad with me spending the whole day trying to bond. I did what everyone said and used a bar of soap to clean the scalp and dish soap too. guess what it worked. Im still holding onto the same bond after two days and its still strong. I do feel so good. The thing i tried was thin coats about thre times leaving 10 minutes betwen each one .. next time ill use the same method but apply 5 coats and leave for 15 mins each . I wonder if ltting it dry too long can cao it to bond less????

    Hey Dude,

Yeah, my trip was great - though I don't have a HD system yet - it's something I want to do by the end of this year so, fingers crossed! Glad you had a good day, finally!!

    THG!

Hey dude thats awesome. im getting into hd at the end of the year also. personally for me its a definate move. Its my last resort lol.

can i ask if u r with an optima hair system and how has it been for you? i have seen those systems. i think they are smilar to hd ones but more expensive.

also do u think the bond cant last longer if u add too many coats or let the drying time exceed for than normal?

    MW

it was great . im working as a team supervisor for an american firm. a far cry from my modelling days and flight attendant days but its part of my vision to be "normal" again as for me ive rarely experienced it lol. Its always been the fast life and fast people and noise and bustle.

As long as my hair is fine i can live like a quiet soul in an english village lol. The bond is great. whie im writing i check on the hairline. just when u lift it u can see little traces of adhesive but its minimal and when u tug at it its like ur tugging at ur scalp. its real believe me and mine is an inferior system than hd quality ones lol

    Hey man,

Yep - I'm with Optima right now - we had to do a little experimenting at first as, like you, my chemistry doesn't hold a great bond, but we got there in the end. They're the most patient people you can wish to meet, which is kinda nice in this day and age of satanic salons! I don't have a full lace system - but I have my first on order and it's on its way, so I'll let you know!

Planning to join HD around Christmas, if all goes well! Why not work with both a salon and an internet company? Okay, there's the money issue, but I just like the peace of mind right now, until I'm confident enough to totally control this thing on my own!

As for the bond...hm... not sure about that one. The best thing I could advise is to just try it and see what happens! That's pretty much what I do. If it doesn't work out, move on, don't do it in exactly the same way again. Personally, I like to use two incredibly thin coats of Perfector Plus adhesive on the hairline - 15-20 mins drying time between, then press down. Sometimes I might stretch to 3 coats, if I'm planning on working out, etc. Here's some golden advice - a longer bond is necessarily a better bond! I used to try and last out 3 weeks, but the lace hairline is SO hard to clean. These days, I go just over a week on the front, and use a few old CDRs to wipe the lace - comes off no sweat! And my bond always looks cool!

    THG :-)

    Hey Margaret

    Thanks for that.

THG, You are right optima staff have been very helpful and i know they are good because they dont even mention any sales tactics at all or convince u into buying any supplies from them. they give out freebies sometimes and also they give good accounts about HD.

Ill be with ya in xmas too . This new system is slightly ripped so im gunna keep it for a rainy day when i get my optima hair system. As long as im in uk i will buy off HD and then get optima to bond it. they have agreed to it .The cost aint bad too. you onky need to go once a mnth which will set u back 40 quid and travelling too so itscheap i think

I havnt tried perfector bond plus yet but time ferris swears by it .i do confirm that the longer you keep the bond on drying wise it does last longer. im more aiming for a three or four week hold. as long as u can master cleaning the lace its no big deal. by the way what are cdr s?

i also need to invest in good old 99 percent alchohol but why get alchohol when u can buy lace remover?

    sory for the questions

Hey man, no worries. CDRs - basically, data discs that you'd burn music or files onto? Blank CDs. Or old Cds! Hey, we've all got a few embarrasing CDs, no? Well, put them to good use! ;-)

I'm not sure what you mean by "lace remover" - are we talking lace release? I don't really use it to be honest. The isoprpyl alcohol you can get from ebay, and it's a recognised brand, for about £3. So that pretty much works for me!

Hey rio, i just wanted to say,tha tyou shouldnt just find a job somewhere quiet so you wont have to worry about your hair, this whole hair issue should not keep you from doing the things you want to do,or get the jobs you want to get,the whole point of this is that you should feel confident With hair! wearing hair should not keep you from doing things,it should motivate you to do more!

    Good luck!Big Smile

    hey gematria

Thx for that. You are so right. And trust me folks im just one of those minor minor few ones that have had probs with bonding otherwise i wud go crazy and trust me i do when its bonded correctly. thats when i go out and have a couple of crazy nights then when the bond releases thats when i feel down. but thankfuly ive found a great adhesive to work with called perfect retouch by rene duval in london. check it out . Im still hoping to go to HD for bonding sessions so im planning time out for that around november.

but i am feeling good right now. and the bond is still holding lol

Jus a quick update that ive finally got out and about despite people trying to bring me down . The bond is lasting up to 2 days now which is an accomplishment compared to dealing with it lastinf for an hour OR SO. Im so determined to make it a longer bond than anyone lol . I must be the person which the shortest bonding time for sure.

The best thing is that ive finally taken control of my life instead of sitting worrying about it every minute im actually only thinking about it twice a day in the morning when i style and in the evening. Its great .

Maybe people crticising you actually gets u up to face the problem head on . And to think a week ago i shaved all my hair off and nearly walked out side my room with out the system on. So cureent in high spirits and absolutely do not care about any negative people giving out negative energy/ Im looking out for number one right now and if im not happy then i cant make any other person happy and im the type that people wanna party wirth lol.

I did have a problem with the new system where the lace ripped quickly. itdoes fel very fragile but thanks to optima hair salon ive got my new system which is more modern.  So i will be visitng them next week . Its just another step towards independence and towards qworking with HD

  • Re: RIO;S BLOG diary of new hair and bonding.

hey folks another update. the job is going great keeps me busy. In relation to the hair system. As you know i finally changed my system after 8 mnths of wearing the same one . The new one is just the same. same old teething problems. To get a bond is incredibly difficult however i haver found an adhesive that manages to hold for at least a full day . it means i have to bond the front daily but i cant be bothered cleaning the scalp throughly daily so i just try and clean the residue off and then apply the adhesive otherwise i will be in the bathroon for two hrs daily.

the new system is incredibly worse than the others lol. The lace is already disapearing eith gaps in a few parts even though i am treating it carefully. i noticed this from day one of cleaning it . secondlky the style is really bad. it was amazing the first two days then lost its silyness and durability and natural look. its already way too hatty. i cant even style it with product lol. my new system is here so im washing my hnds with this salon and moving on. this is my penultimum stp before hd. i cant wait.

    Rio,

Oh my! What changes you are going through over there in the UK when it comes to hair systems and bonding. I can't wait until you get in the States and go to HD, too! You won't be sorry, that's for sure!!

By the way Rio, you need to check out my "preview" video with HD!!! You will have a lot of laughs for about 2 minutes. I never before produced a video and i'm just amazed and laughing at the same, too. Just to see me being myself and acting natural, is just the way i am in person. I can go to Hollywood, CA now and get some training on Comedy Central or Saturday Night Live, yes?!! I also love comedy and entertainment, by the way...

And yeah this system is already looking worn. Lucky i have plenty of product in it. Im earning a lot of money now and hardly think about it but i cant wait for the pay check next wednesday then going to optima salon on the saturday to get fixed up lol
