For cleaning thin skins, we recommend soaking the base in the ProTouch Clean Skin Base Cleaner. (http://www.hairdirect.com/store/protouch-cleanskin-base-16oz.aspx)
After soaking, hold the base under cold, running water, and then the adhesive should peel away from the base. This is a gentle way to remove the adhesive, without damaging the base by stretching or possibly tearing it.
If you'd like, you can see step by step instructions, as well as view a tutorial here: http://www.hairdirect.com/resources/hdskin-video/base-cleaning.aspx
We always recommend using a water-based adhesive like ProTouch Fusion Bond or Ghost Bond, as they are easier to remove. We don't recommend using tape on thin skins, as removal could risk tearing the base.
