I am interested in hearing from people who use or have used Maxim as a way to reduce skin irritation from tape and glue. I use scalp protection spray, but I am wondering if I should also try using Maxim (in addition to the spray). I am experiencing skin irritation from the supertape.
What say you?!
Hi Encouraged,
I know alot of people like it for the benefit of extending bond time but I haven't heard much about whether or not they use it specifically to help with skin irritation. I have read here on the board that it did not cause irritation for some http://www.hairdirect.com/community/forums/thread/15527.aspx.
I would guess if the tape is causing the irritation the Maxim would provide a nice barrier, but I'm sure someone who's used it will jump in and help you out.
Thanks!
Nikki

Hi,
I purchased the Maxim at either Babe's or CurlySue's suggestion because of a bad odor experience. I put a thin layer of the Maxim on first and then spritzed with the scalp protector. I haven't had any trouble, but am wondering if I'm doing it right?
Hi Gwen--It was Babe, I don't use Maxim. Here's her post on this. Maybe it will help you out.

Hi Gwen,
Yep, you are doing it exactly right! I don't use liquid bandage because it was too thick for my liking. I use a coat (thin) of maxim and let it dry completely before spraying Walker's scalp protector on.
Is it working for you?
Babe
Not born with hair, but I've gotthe intelligence to find it, the money to pay for it, the patience to "stick" it on just right, the will to make it work, the confidence to wear it boldlyand the smile to wear under it!
Thanks all, for your input on Maxim
