this video is from the proper scalp prep from hair direct, it shows some one with an obvious scalp infection from the tapes and adhesives he was using.

and it was not even mentioned. rather it shows to apply (chemical's) that did not work in the first place to (prevent this) over the infected area, this is not a good thing to have out there on this site for (hd) looking for new customers

Actually, you couldn't be more wrong by stating that Mike (the guy from the video) has an "obvious scalp infection" -- not even close.

We realize that you spend time on that other message board (you know, the little site with all the infighting and name calling) and we realize that they don't like us over there and because of their own inability (or unwillingness) to produce their own video content, they love to critique and put us down. But we also know envy when we see it so we understand and dont take their comments too seriously. You shouldn't either, Bosox.

The truth is, Mike does have REDNESS on his scalp from the tape... and, yes, we should have pointed this out and provided more of an explanation in the video. But, frankly, lots of people who remove their unit will have some redness. When you have a band-aid on your skin for a few days then take it off... is there not some redness for a little while? Would you call that an infection? Come on man, stop trying to stir up trouble.

In fact, only one week ago, Debbie posted a comment on that other forum responding to another customer asking about their own irritation, she stated that "the red hickey type mark is from pulling the tape off your skin" -- not a big deal. There is a BIG difference between some irritation and a skin infection. But I guess some people like to get their "neck all twisted up" and will never let the truth get in the way of a good story.

    Yep...uh huh...I love being right!

    Stick out tongue

If you take off your unit after wearing it for at least 5 days and you have no redness??? It's either a miracle - or - you're dead and have no blood flow to your head! Hmmm....kind of fishy...

Usually  my tape comes off and my scalp isn't red right away, but as soon as I use any friction to clean it, you can clearly see a pink area where the tape was. There is definitely no infection. Never.

Bosox - obviously you are welcome to post, but for the sake of all users here, please get your facts right before you scare others for no reason.

Not born with hair, but I've got
    the intelligence to find it,
the money to pay for it,
the patience to "stick" it on just right,
the will to make it work,
the confidence to wear it boldly
and the smile to wear under it!

    Babe,

You are exactly right about the redness when one starts cleaning, etc. i see my redness all the time when i start my cleaning or even when i take away the tapes. But when i'm through cleaning and start my process of retaping my unit, my scalp is back to my own natural looking color. I always check for any sort of differences but the redness disappears ultimately.

If there was any infection because of some redness, i would the first to know and let others know, but again, i've always noticed the redness.

And as Brandon mentioned the scenario about a band-aid, that is the way i look at it, also.

By the way, what do you use to keep your new units or your current units, as sily soft as one can? I just post a message to Curley Sue about this question and my own experiences, etc.. You can see it this morning. I would appreciate your comments, too.

    Thanks Babe,

I get redness too--as a matter of fact, if my man is away I will sleep without my unit on and the redness remains in the morning. Never had an infection.

I like the videos.  They demystify the hair wearing/prep process and inject a healthy dose of humor.  Great production values too.  BTW, I would have had no idea that Mike's hairstyle was HD03 until I checked the before and after pics.  Just goes to show that, depending on length and styling, you can achieve a number of different looks.
