CurlySue,
I appreciate you posting pics in the future. Also, thanks for the pics you posted. I wouldn't personally change anything because I think you look great but it's not my hair and you need to keep working with it until you feel just right about it. When I had the hair integrations, my husband kept telling me that I looked great. It just came down to me not feeling great and my goal is to feel great about my hair. Thanks for sharing the pics. It really helps those of us still trying to get to the goal.
Angie--thanks for the compliments, and you're welcome for posting! I really did it for everyone else because there's not too many pics of gals on this site. It's understandable. It's a difficult thing to "expose" yourself like that. But, I appreciate Babe and some of the other gals doing it so I thought I'd help out too.
I really don't think my unit looks bad, it's just difficult with my own hair curling up all the time and poking out. I really don't want to go with the full cap until it's necessary. We'll see where I end up! When I started wearing this wavy unit I just kept telling people that I was straightening my hair and they bought it. So if I go back to curly, they'll just think I let my hair go curly again!
Nonetheless, my self-esteem has improved by leaps and bounds in a very short period of time. Thanks HD!
Sue
Sue,
I think you are making a really important point. There aren't too many pics of women on the site. In fact, when I first checked out the website, I almost dismissed it as being primarily for men. Then I saw the discussion for Women's Hair Replacement and the pics and info about Babe. It takes courage to be able to post pictures but those of us looking to experienced people (like you and Babe) really appreciate it. I promise to post pics too once I get my unit.

Hello Lisa~
I tried to find a manufacturer on the bottle and there wasn't one so I looked it up on the internet and it came up for sale at Amazon, among other places. You just have to try it and let me know how it works on the fuzzy hair system issues! I am hoping it does great things for them. That will be one less thing I have to comcern myself with when ordering a system!
Thanks! Nancy
Thanks Nancy!
This product does get great reviews on Amazon. Lisa, I believe the manufacturer's name is "It's a 10".The line also includes a hair mask I'd love to try. Check it out here.
I also would like to try the Kinky-Curly products. Since naturally curly hair is naturally dryer and frizzier than straight hair, maybe these products would help tame the frizz! Specifically, I've read good things (user reviews) about Knot Today (leave-in) and Curling Custard. An added bonus is that these products are organic!!! http://www.kinky-curly.com/shop.html
I've also read good reviews about Curl Keeper. It's water-based so it doesn't build-up which is great for us! No silicones either (not great for curly hair...seals out the moisture). Also is all natural. http://curlkeeper.com/ Check out the kits! I'm salivating. http://curlkeeper.com/kits.aspx
Has anyone tried Ojon http://www.ojon.com/ or Wen http://www.wenhaircare.com/ ?? I'm dying to try these as well.
When I hit the lottery, I'll try all of these products. In the meantime, I have to wait until my current stuff runs out. Then again, I sure have lots of stuff to add to my Christmas list.
Nancy Ann,
Thank you for looking into that for me. I am going to check it out on Amazon. I also have fuzzy curls and am always looking for the perfect fix! I would love to give this a try on the fuzzy systems. I'll talk to the boss about getting it and I will keep you posted.
Thank you!

Curly Sue,
Thank you so much for all the product tips! Wow, girl you found everything a curly girl would ever need! I am going to look into all of the products listed above. I can't wait. I think it would be very beneficial if HD would add more products for curly hair. Right now we only carry a few that are specifically designed for curly hair.
I have tried Ojon. The smell is so intense. It smells good as long as you don't overdue it with the finishing products. The smell gets too strong. It leaves your hair wonderful. I was not too thrilled with the shampoo and conditioner but I loved the mousee/foam and the finishing spray. In one day alone , I had three people tell me I smelled good and asked me what I was wearing.
I have been wanting to try Wen by Chaz Dean but it is a bit pricey for me. He was just on QVC over the weekend. I was tempted. lol Let me know if you try it.
Thank you so much for all your ideas and research on the products. Keep um coming.
Happy Hair Day,
Hey Lisa-
I was interested in the Ojon because the hydrating shampoo and conditioner are supposed to be really nourishing so I thought it might work well for the dryer processed hair. As for the WEN, the owner actually said that it smooths the cuticle which peaked my interest. I've seen both on QVC too--my other addiction!
Thanks for supporting the Curly Cause. If you need product testers, you know where to find 'em!
By the way, I have at least 4 MORE brands that I'd like to try. Let me know when you're ready for more!
I couldn't wait! These four are product lines that curly girls swear by:
http://www.jessicurl.com/ http://missjessies.com/products.htm mmm...pudding, buttercreme, meringue!http://www.moptophair.com/ "Specially made for dry, frizzy, or unruly hair"http://www.ouidad.com/ Curl QUEEN!
Thank you again! I haven't had a chance to look into all the sites/products you listed. I have been too busy but I am dying to get to it! You are our official Curly Researcher! Thank you.
Thanks Lisa--and just a quick note--Many of you may be wondering why I think it's important to use products designed for naturally curly hair on processed curly units. That's because the properties of both types of hair are similar. Naturally curly hair is naturally dryer because of the elliptical shape of the hair shaft, and the twist in the hair. The scalp's natural sebum oils do not travel down a curly hair shaft as well as they do with a straight hair shaft. Also, frizz and tangling are universal curly problems, not just a hair system issue. I wish curly research was my part-time job but since it isn't, I'll have to get back to work!
Hi all--
Just an update...I've been using CurlKeeper for several weeks now...3 or 4. It's a good product in that it acts like a silicone serum but contains no silicones so it does not dry out the hair. Because it is water-based it truly does not build up on the hair which is very impressive. I use this product every day over top of Moisture Mist when my hair is soaking wet and then I use a little more before it's completely dry. I finger comb it through my hair and scrunch. It pulls the waves together similar to a mousse with no crunch, no stickiness and no thick product look. I'm mostly amazed that it doesn't build up at all. Anyway, I'm about two-thirds of the way through the bottle. I might try something new when it's done to compare.
Anyone else trying anything new that they really like?
Just wanted to point you to this review on WEN products, in case you're interested. I'm still switching between endless bottles of Pureology and the NN Silk Protein. I can't tell a difference between the two. My hair is mighty soft though!

Hi Curly sue
Thanks for the info about the Wen products. We looked into this product line but they don't sell whole sale. When and if they do we will look into it again. Thanks for all your input!
