I think you're making the right decision going with HD. Ive ordered two units from them and overall been pretty happy. the first one I got was exactly what I wanted, and even though the second one wasn't exact, its still really nice. The hair techs have always been more than helpful and hav a genuine concern for their clients. Ive been with other companies, many of them and mostly really bad, and now that im with HD I will never go back.

anyways, some advice to you, when you're ordering, ask for 100% REMY hair. it is unprocessed and looks the best, and is very natural. my first system is a year old, and still as soft as it was when it came.

go ahead and shave your head, its the best for attaching and its more comfortable, and cleanup is easier.

Im able to put my hair up and do all kinds of things with it. including swimming, roller coasters, being on a motorcycle, and driving in a convertible with the top down.

its up to you when you want to remove, but sleeping in it is no problem, nor is showering.

Im glad to see you've got a fitting kit, and some help, and I hope all goes well!

    Thank You Trisha,

I have been hearing that 100% REMY is the way to go and that is what I am thinking of getting when the kit arrives.  If I may ask how often do you need to reattach?  I can go foer about seven days and then I get a couple of days off from work to prep for the following week.  I am really looking forward to having hair 24/7.

    Thank You for your replay.

I like to reattach about once a week, but i can get two or three weeks out of it. i work alot, so i dont always have time, so on a day off is when i will do it.

i just started using supertape to attach, which is great. i find if you use tape instead of glue, its easier and less time consuming to clean. 99% alcohol will be your best friend to clean your scalp when you remove, as well as releasing the glue/tape. some people find it drying, but i havent had a problem with it.

if you can, when you shampoo, try to do a soak in conditioner and a bit of water and let it sit for a few hours. that seems to keep it nice too, just rinse well.

if theres anything else you'd like to know, i dont mind answering your questions!

    Trisha,

Yes I do if you don't mind.

I am think of full cap, 100% Remy.  I don't know what you have, but I am torn between tape and glue.  You seem to have no problem with tape.  Does it give a realistic look and feel if touched?  I like the easier clean up and alcohol and I are old friends.  I have a allergic reaction to something that cause me to itch and the only two things that help are alcohol and antihistamine.

    Thanks again.

  • Re: Hi there Ladies

    I dont mind at all...

I have a full cap and I prefer REMY.

TAPE!!! I cant see or feel the tape. neither can anyone else. glue is messy, hard to clean, and gets onto everything, then when you're done cleaning it you have to pull a thousand little white leftover glueballs off the lace. and it never fully comes out. no thanks! lol. tape goes on easy, and comes off easy with alcohol.

    Thanks again Trisha,

Full cap, 100% REMY and super tape.  Well that is the way I will go.   What about shampoo and conditioner?  What brands do you use?  And is there anything else I should know?

    Thank You for your help.

    Hi Janet

I use different products. the ones I really like are pantene and Dove products. they seem to give the best results if you're using regular shampoo.

    Janet Lynn,

Hope all is going well...have you received the fitting kit yet?  It's really pretty easy, especially if you're getting a full cap.  Just take measurements!  I orderd "medium" density, and it must have weighed a pound, there was so much hair!  Needless to say, I sent it back and am waiting for a call from my tech to go over the changes I need to have made.  The full cap felt so weird, I'm just not sure I'm ready to go with it, after just having a "topper".

    Anyone else have this problem?

Keep us posted Janet Lynn....good luck to you!

    Hi Lady In Red,

I received the kit yesterday, but today I am very ill.  A cold I think.  I am trying to go thru the kit but my fever comes and goes.  If I can do it today I will this week sometime.

    Janet,

Glad you're feeling better and have sent the kit off!  The hard part is the waiting!  Did you order the same style as Hairlady?  What density did you get?

I'm sure glad we have this forum for our unique situation.  Nobody, but nobody can understand what it's like to lose one's hair!  We need to stick together for moral support!

    Lady In Red,

My friend and I decided on W046, because of my facial structure.  I also' tried it on for size' on the web site that was mention here a couple of time and I think it will look good on me.  I went with light in front, medium light on the top and crown and medium on the sides and back.  Which is or should I say was Hmm like my own hair.  And of course I am going with 100% REMY hair on a full lace base.  Kind of an Auburn with about 3% grey and light wave.  Hey I am 54 and grey can look good on a woman if it is too much.Stick out tongue

OMG I almost sound like I know what I am talking about.Surprise

  • Re: Hi there Ladies

Well I just got off the phone with Cindy and my new system will be on it's way soon.  Ten Weeks will seem like a lifetime.  I am looking forward to receiving it and enjoying it.  If I am happy with it, I will pass along my experiences to my sister TSs. We are always looking for ways to deal with hair loss.  It is of greater importance to MtF Transwomen, more so than bios-women because of our unique circumstances.

    Much Love,
