  why can't hair wearer's use a store shampoo's etc 05-05-2008, 8:31 PM ok i am just wonding why can't hair wearers buy styling products, shampoos and things like that for their hair systems from stores?   What is the difference in it all?  I always thought hc4m was just trying to sell these products just to make more money, btw their shampoo's all cost 12 dollars or more and tapes were 7 dollas or more.. hd does have better prices ofcause , but i want to know all my options out there .  thanks for any input on this question   Billy

  Re: why can't a hair wearer's usa store shampoo's etc 05-05-2008, 9:03 PM Hi, Billy, I don't know HD's view on this, but I've been wearing hair for 15 years and I have always used regular shampoo and conditioner on it. You can't scrub it with your fingertips like you would your own hair, though, because that will tangle it. I just put a small amount of baby shampoo on it an gently run my comb through it. Then rinse and apply conditioner in the same way. I've never had any problems doing it that way.   Jeff

  Re: why can't a hair wearer's usa store shampoo's etc 05-05-2008, 9:31 PM Hairpiece hair is dead, and very vulnerable to alcohols, sulfates, etc and store bought products are loaded with all of them, just look at the ingredients next time you are in the store, you`ll see these in them. They are very bad for the hair and its color. Without these products the hair will stay much healthier much longer. Most of the products that are specifically made for hairpiece hair are less expensive than comparable products for normal hair. As a default, anything from Nearly Natural is good including the new shampoos and conditioners. You wont go wrong there. Need more help? http://www.hairdirect.com/store/Michigan-Baldy-Dvd.aspx

Im also a hairstylist and hair color tech  for almost 20 yrs. and I use all Matrix Biolage products on my hair system and all my color clients and my system is always looking great and feeling like the first day i get and all there styling products have sunscreen which is very important even just getting into and out of your car without sunscreen is realy bad for colored hair ..... which you can find these product at all upscale salons or in Target and CVS which us hair stylist love that ..well hope this helps you Billy

  Re: why can't hair wearer's use a store shampoo's etc 05-11-2008, 8:06 AM yea it does,I just like to know if i could go into a store if i wanted too. that is a big help. thanks so much..Ithink i will have to go into a store to get pomade which i have always like using on my hair when I used to go to hc4m. they sold it but I just can't go buy it from them now, lol.. maybe in the future HD will carry something like that, untill then i need to i guess buy it from elsewear. I just want to find a pomade that's safe for my hair system.. It would seem to me that i need it to be waterbased and have sunscreen in it to be safe for my hair.    maybe this matrix biolage will sell a pomade. going look it up on the internet now. thanks alot.  Still 1 month to go to get my hair system,. lol I can't wait. hope it looks great so i can start wearing it the first weekend i get it Billy

This product line is for hair replacments and would probably need to be purchased on line. As far as i know as well, we are one of the only hair replacment companie to cary the WHOLE line of Nearly Natural. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I have found that as long as you go for a moisturising  shampoo and conditioner that does not contain alcohol, you will have great hair. Supermarkets sell lots of brands. Its always a good idea to also buy a leave in conditioner. Its worth pointing out not to over wash. Washing hair every day is not good, even for real hair. Tim  London -England

  Re: why can't hair wearer's use a store shampoo's etc 05-18-2008, 6:25 PM Over-the-counter alcohol-free gels, conditioners and shampoos can be safely used on hairpieces, in my experience.  I wholeheartedly agree with Tim, however, that everday washing is not good on either the hair or the attachment.  I try to keep shampooing to every several days.  If the hair gets messy in places overnight, I'll do limited conditioning of the specific "messed up" parts of the hair only, which seems to work well for me.
