  • Which do you prefer?

    Hey Guys-

I was just wondering; I have been asked by a few customers which adhesive is the best. It's a little hard to decide! The two most popular that I have had requests for is the Walker Ultra Hold and the Vapon No Tape. This is just to give me an idea of what you guys think is the best of the best!

  • Could you guys let me know what you like the best? Thanks!

My preference is supertape for the all lace pieces, and blue on red for the one with the poly perimeter.

Im just bout to give supertape ago on the front hairline, i used my scissors to cut the scallops and after seeing dustys vid i was impressed.

If its not HairDirect on top then its just not worth it.

Dual attachment here, Proflex No-Shine for back sides and Hair Direct's High Definition bond for the front hairline for a 1-week wear time.  My cleanup and re-attach routine is nice&easy, about 1 hour per week.

Hair Direct: "The ultimate lost and found".

I use both HD High Def glue and Walker Ultra Hold.  I think I'll eventually be 100% WUH, however, because it seems to last longer and clean-up easier for my chemistry.

Bretina, I rarely hear anyone mention this product, but I found that Max Grafting Solution is by far the best adhesive I ever used.  I think the price scares most people but it goes such a long way!!  I've only used it when I was wearing a full poly base and I wanted extended wear time if I was going on vacation somewhere near the beach, sun and water.  I would get 4 to 5 good weeks from it and there is no way I would wonder if my hair would stay on tight after only a week or 10 days in the sun.  I haven't used it on lace yet but I do wonder how it would work.  If anybody has, I'd like to hear what they thought.  The reason I don't use it on a regular basis is because it holds for too long and I like removing and replacing every 2 weeks to clean and shave my scalp.

Hi Joebell! I'm glad to hear the max grafting solution works great on you. I wouldn't recommend using it on lace since it can very easily seep through into the hair ( oh what a mess that would be). I've been doing hair replacements for 6 years and only found the max grafting solution a success  if the client doesn't have many natural oils from the scalp.    Are you using red liner tape on your base for an easier clean up?
  • Re: Which do you prefer?

I totally agree with Lisa M! The Max is a gret product, but I would be careful if you use that on lace.Tongue Tied As I'm sure you all know that lace is great for undetectability, but not very durable. You are going to want to use something a little stronger than red liner tape because it won't stick  to the lace, it isn't tacky enough.

Plus, if the max is too strong and last you too long and you want to change every 2 weeks, I would stick with tape or a glue that isn't as strong. But of course, that is up to you. Thanks again for replying!

    Lisa and Bretina,

I appreciate your input about Max and using it on a lace system.  I never did, so I was wondering how it would work.  It seemed if I let it dry and attached the lace like you would with any other liquid, it would be fine.  But, I wouldn't try it on the lace of a good lace system.  I would however use it on a lace base with a poly perimeter (only on the poly, of course) if I wanted a very strong hold or an extended wear.  I believe this is a product that most people don't know much about, but I believe it is great if used properly and in the right application.  It has to be the most secure bond available.
