Hi
I had been using Supertape but didn't like the "bandage look" on my front hairline.
I used Safegrip for the first time yesterday on my front hairline. Two light coats.
Took shower this morning, used Blue Max Shampoo and cond.
My front popped up! Completely.
Now what do I do? Should I take it off and start over, or can I try putting glue on again??
Maybe I should stick with the Supertape, pardon the pun!
Thanks a bunch!
Nervous Nellie
Thank you SamIam!
I did the adjust A bond, but I don't think it worked!
I talked with my tech and she said I needed to give it 24 hrs before shampooing.
I will reglue later and see what happens. If after experimenting with the glues, if they don't work, I will just go back to supertape, or a combination of supertape with glue closer to the hairline.
Thanks again.
Goose, What is your preferred method of getting the safegrip off your scalp?
Waiting 24 hours to shower is definitely a great tip! In addition, when you do shower, the lace may lift a bit. However, if you press the lace back down and just let it dry, it usually works great. I use a blow dryer to speed up the process.
I also put a strip of tape just behind where I use the safegrip. That provides extra strength for the glue and it seems to hold much better with the security of the tape behind it.
Let us know how it works!

Not born with hair, but I've gotthe intelligence to find it, the money to pay for it, the patience to "stick" it on just right, the will to make it work, the confidence to wear it boldlyand the smile to wear under it!
Babe is right, 24 hours minimum before washing your hair. If you can stand it, use luke warm or even cold water. Cold water is good for your hair as it closed the cuticles and stops tangling, plus it sets the glue, It also gives a nice shine.
Its worth also pointing out to be really gentle , and dont bush the hairline forward straight out of the shower. Use the towel to press dry the front, then you will find the glue will set and stay fixed.
Also, as much as i hate 'sayings' this one is true, 'failing to prepare is preparing to fail'. You must make sure your scalp is squeaky clean. Any oil or debre will hinder the glue from sticking.

Mirror Slide, Mirror Slide, Mirror Slide. -Now with cellophane!
Thank you all for your help.
My front is pretty much completely lifted now, but I am wearing bangs to conceal that.
Will experiment with the tape plus adhesive as Babe suggested. I had been doing that before and it held very well. I just get frustrated because of the "bandaid" look. I see all the guy's and gals photos with the undetectable hairline and would like mine to work that way. Although I place the system behind some of my growing hairline, my growing hair is so thin you can see right through it. Would like to go without bangs but maybe that just won't happen. At least now I have hair!
Thank you again!
Thanks for al the tips for the safegrip !
I love the "feel" of this method on the scalp. Unlike tape, when I use the glue I feel virtually no "edge" when running fingers through my hair.
I find tape is easier for my weekly maintenance.. but the safegrip definitely feels better.
: )
Hi Nellie,
After hearing great reviews, I also decided to use the Safe Grip. It does not work for me! i tried it a few times with different coats and drying times each time. I tried it at the front hairline and the front would lift up after a day withought even wetting my hair. It was just a big mess to clean up on a daily basis so I'm sticking to tape for now but still want to find a glue that works so I don't have to wear bangs. I've also tried the HD ultra hold and I find it messy and doesn't hold well on me either. I'm going to try the walkers glue next. I want that high def undectible look at the front as well, but will not work with tape. I am still on a mission to find the perfect glue that works with my body chemistry!
smiley,
I have used both super tape and walker no shine tape on my front, and its been totally undetectable. Maybe its the way you have been cutting the lace, and how much extra you are leaving at the front hairline that isn't allowing you the undeteectable look.
Hi Tim,
I'm not sure if it was you that suggested leaving some extra lace at the front for the extra realism and hold. Anyhow, i did see it somewhere on the boards, and I did order my next unit with the extra lace at the front. I'm hoping this will solve my problems! I plan to use tape and then a bit of glue for the extra lace. I'm just worried that the extra bit will peel off my head sooner then expected. I know I'll be so nervous that I'll keep checking it all the time because it will be easy to spot once it starts peeling off. I guess I should be optimistic and hope for a strong hold. I asked for an extra 1/2 inch. Hopefully it will do the trick!
IMHO, I think 1/2 " is too much. try for 1/8 ".
