Hair replacement systems custom-made anddelivered to your door. 100% guaranteed!
Hi Everyone. Just wanted to let you know that I received my current system at the end of January, 2009, and I'm still wearing that system !! That's a miracle in my book. A really good system with the right hair care products makes all the difference in the world. I found the right system, thanks to Hair Direct, and have been using the WEN hair cleansing system, and here I am, 8 months of wear and it still looks good. I've ordered a new system and will retire this one when it arrives, but will definitely still be able to use it as a back up. Just thought I'd pass this on.
Jo
Congratulations Jo!!!
It's great that you obviously treat your hair with lots of care and I know it can be done - for sure! It's such a great feeling to know people can learn how to do this all by themselves and be so successful!
Kudos to you!!!!

Not born with hair, but I've gotthe intelligence to find it, the money to pay for it, the patience to "stick" it on just right, the will to make it work, the confidence to wear it boldlyand the smile to wear under it!
Hi Jo,
WOW!! That is amazing!! You obviously know what you're doing. So happy to hear you are satisfied with your unit from HD.

Hey Jojo-
Great job! What type of base do you have? What is the density of your unit?

jojofree,
Wow! I'm impressed. Please tell me what is the "WEN hair cleansing system?" I'm not familiar. Also, i have the HD24 full lace unit because of my own preference, and i keep a journal of my removables, cleanings, and reattachments, etc., and i logged in my journal my very first unit that i had fitted was on May 15 2009 and i "retired" it 3 months later, since with me my units are only 55% density, short, wavy and curly. I'm on the 8 a year standing order plan with HD.
I even read on this message board that another person wore his unit from december 2008 up to june or july of 2009! So it must be possible, but i didn't think it would be. Do you wear your system daily, sleep in it, too?
Again, i was just curious about the "WEN hair cleansing system". Is that something HD store offers? I guess i can check, right? (smile)

Hi Donnie--
It's a unique hair care system that doesn't use detergent based shampoo, it uses a conditioner cleanser which would probably be great for our units' hair. It's on my list of things to try but I love Nearly Natural so much that I haven't had a reason to switch.
You can read about WEN products here: http://www.wenhaircare.com. They are also available at QVC.
Hi CurlySue,
I'm amazed about this product. i checked out the WEN cleaning conditioner and it is ALL natural ingredients and it reminds me of JRob's RemiSoft 3-system products, just cheaper.
But not to compare too much, each product has their own uniqueness, but the RemiSoft BlueMax 3-system has the Protective Sealer that i like when i look out into the sunlight and see the excellent sheen on my unit and my natural sides and my short hair stays soft now like my natural hair, since i have been using the sealer and that has been for almost 2 months ago . I also uses Nearly Natural leave-in conditioner, all from HD store.
So i don't know if the lady ever used any of the HD store products, since i didn't ask, but i also noticed that her length and yours looks like both of you have 16". It may be that more hair the longer the quality may last. Does that make sense to you?
It sounds like it would because my unit, being short, is LESS hair, thus the 3-months of really good use, for me, in my opinion.

P.S. I noticed "Donnie". I feel like you are my family. (smile) My siblings call me Donnie...not a problem, just perfect coming from you!
Hey Donnie
Actually I think it could be because Jojofree has straight hair. It's my opinion that long hair is MORE susceptible to damage because of all the pulling and tangling it is subjected too, but I've never had a very short unit. I only can compare to the fact that half my life I had very short growing hair and the other half I had long growing hair and the long hair was always much harder to manage and keep healthy.
I think from the pic that Jojofree has straight hair. Straight unprocessed hair (like Babe has) is healthier to start with because it has not been damaged through curl or wave processing. Curl and wave processing essentially rots the hair, or breaks it down. So those of us with curl or wave patterns are starting out with hair that has already been chemically damaged so to speak.
In the past I have worn a straightened unit and it was much easier to care for, never tangled or matted, and therefore saw less breakage and shedding.
My unit on order is straight so I will be able to do a true comparison. The down side to me wearing straight hair is that I have to straighten my own hair once or twice a day underneath the unit, which causes breakage to my own hair.
Anyway, I am happy to get 3-4 months out of a unit. I used to wear them for a year and I basically hated them the last 6-8 months! A lot depends on the hair you start with too...sometimes you can get really great hair, and other times, well, not so much!
Hi jojofree!
That is so great! I am so happy for you. You really know how to take of your systems! Way to go and it is always a great idea to have a back up system!
Have a great night!!

CurlySue,
Wow! Another learning curve for me...i didn't think about the "processing" of my hair, either. Of course, i definitely have processed hair just because of the creation of the curls and waves. i now understand the idea of straight hair NOT being processed compared to what i or others that do have processsed hair, have to be more careful in care and maintenance.
About Babe's hair, i've always look at her hair and i even told her how so natural and flawless her hair looks. But i never thought about the texture that she has, compared to those of us that do have processed hair, no mater how short or long.
I think you have processed with the curls and waves, but still i was in amazement when i saw you and your hair back in february when i joined. i couldn't believe HD had units like yours or Babes, but through my learning and asking questions, it is possible and you are living proof, too, that the undetectability of you, Babe and others with long hair are so realistic.
Thanks for that tip...
Hi JoJo
That is terrific! With good care and maintenance the units do last. Thank you for sharing

Do you use the Wen styling products as well as the shampoo/conditioner? I am looking for a safe styling prduct and can't seem to come up with anything that is non-alcohol and doesn't weigh my hair down.
Thanks!
Gwen
Hi Julie,
Just got your note about the system being shipped. Thanks for that. Taz needs all the well wishes he can get this month because we had to say "goodbye" in September to his pack sister, Cocoa. She hasn't been well for a long time and she lost her battle, and Taz is having a rough go of it. I'll give him your compliment....
