  • what to do now?

I just received my second order from HD.  when I first took it out of the box, it looked great. just like the first one. The problem is, I washed it and attached it today and I realize now that it is NOT remy hair, and thats what I had originally ordered. those of you who know about Remy hair will know what im talking about. The first system was Remy hair, and it still looks great and not dry and frizzy like processed hair gets, the only reason I ordered another one was because the front was thinning out on the first one.

So the problem is, now that its washed and attached, it looks bad, im very unhappy with it, and I dont know what to do. The other problem is that im getting married in six weeks, and im wondering if theres no time to order a new one? I certainly cant wear this, and I cant wear the other one because of the thinning in the front.

    Any help would be appreciated.

This happens a lot with HD's systems. Drop me a line and I can probably help you.

I know that it thins out in the front, it was a year old. thats why I ordered a new one. My issue is with the new unit, its not what I ordered, and im getting married in six weeks. and Im wondering what to do now.

My issue was not with the old unit or HD. In my earlier posts, Ive mentioned how Ive been screwed over by other companies, including paying over $3000 USD and driving ten hours to get a mop that was hideous and fell apart within two months and they did nothing but offer me a new one for $2500USD. I like HD. they got the first unit bang on, and it still great minus the front.

Thank you very much for your reply, I would appreciate any help, but my concern is if I can be helped in such a short time.

    Trishie,

I hope by now that you contacted your hair tech because HD is the only one who can help to get you a new unit before the wedding.  As for the dry piece, I may have a suggestion if you decide to keep it.  I had a system come and it was dry also.  Sending it back and waiting another 6 to 8 weeks was not what I wanted to do.  So, I tried the Nearly Natural Sooth-e frizz control.  It didn't make it perfect, but it was much better.  I thought it was just over processed when they added the curl, but perhaps it is not remy hair.  Do you know of a way to be absolutely positive that it is or is not remy hair?  We can speculate, but is there a way to know for sure?

I contacted my hair tech, and unfortunatly I dont have enough time to have a new one ordered and here by my wedding. Im just going to keep this one and hope for the best. she was genuinely concerned and even that makes me feel better. Im just going to order another one after the wedding.

Ill try that product I think, thankyou for that.

Remy hair  I can tell just by looking at. ive been doing this for years. one way to tell is to wash it, when its wet it will 'matte' up.

take a strand of remy hair, and run your fingers up the shaft of the hair, you will feel its a bit rougher than if you were to slide it down.  Processed hair will feel the same going both ways. its also thinner and less shiny. and doesn't 'sit' the same way as remy does.

Also, if you wear long hair, like I do, the ends of the hair tangle and get matted after a while, whereas, remy lies flat and doesn't tangle as much.

Another indicator is if you can see a split end at the end of a hair, there are sometimes on new systems, or sometimes if its backwards you'll see part of the root on some, that was shedded as well as cut.

  • Re: what to do now?

What about having HD add remy hair to your old hair system in the front where your old hair system is thinning out?

When I went to hc4m, I once had a hair add in the front and it took less then a few hours to add the hair in the front. I don't know how long HD would take to do it, but maybe this would be the answer !

I thought it look better after the hair add too. It could be wroth a try, if they can do it for you and I thought i saw it in the store tab for something like 60 dollars to add hair.

Billy , the hair doesnt wear me I wear the hair, lol ?

  • Re: what to do now?

    Surprise

you know what? I never thought of that!! the other system is still lovely, except the front. that may work, does HD do this??

    Thanks Billy!

  • Re: what to do now?

ok I just saw a list of services offered, this is great!

  • Re: what to do now?

your welcome, hope all works out..I would over night the hair tomorrow . then maybe by the end of next week you could have it back in your hands ready to wear again..

Also ,  I can't remember the name of the site but i came across one hair wig maker that would add hair to a hair system you already owned. Though I am sure hd will do it. I know from being at hc4m, that the base of the hair system still has to be in good shape to add hair though, so as long as the base of your hair system is in good shape you should be good to go !

BTW I was wrong, I just looked and it cost 100 dollars, not 60 dollars.......Indifferent

Billy , the hair doesnt wear me I wear the hair, lol ?

  • Re: what to do now?

There is also a site that could have had her a new system in less than four weeks but I'm sure HD would not like that posted. Granted it would cost a bit extra but would have solved her problem

  • Re: what to do now?

I supposedly have Remy hair and it does not feel like that...If I can't feel the cuticle does that mean it is not Remy hair?

  • Re: what to do now?

    Curly Sue;

The best way to tell of its remy hair is when you wash it. does it matte up when its wet? when you're wearing the hair after its dry, does it seem to form little "nests"? ths is what happens to processed hair.

    Mary;

Thank you so much for your help! I am very grateful. After all the hell I've been through with other companies, This is so nice. Thanks for caring Big Smile
