Hey everybody
The folks over at Nearly Natural have just released a brand new line-up of complimentary products to their now famous Softening Solution.
The new line consists of 3 different shampoo/conditioners, 2 styling gels/spray and a new “all around” product called Moisture Mist. We’ve actually done a good amount of testing on these new products and we feel that they will make an excellent addition to any hair wearers’ bathroom arsenal.
We sent free samples of the new line to a few clients and Community members and here are some of the comments we got back:
BrianD says:
“Oh my gosh, I love the other products! I used the Collagen Gel Spray this morning after a fresh attachment, this styling aid is amazing!...”
“…You just got a life-customer with this product…”
(About Moisture Mist)
"This unique pump design, leave-in conditioner puts moisture and protection into my hair before I use my hair dryer. The result is shiny, healthy looking hair that is also more tangle-free during the drying / styling process."
Michigan Baldy says:
“I just got back from a 6 night primitive (no running water) camping trip which gave my hair quite the abuse. When I got home yesterday I seen your products on my doorstep. That’s quite an impressive product line you have going there. I went inside and got to work restoring my hair after putting it through a rough 5 days and six nights of sun, wind, and no shampoos.
I used your shampoo, conditioner, and of course I used the original restorative treatment, and my hair is just like brand new :) This is a real winner, I`ll be sure to tell everyone.”

Nearly Natural wanted to try and get these new products into as many hands as possible (well, hairs, actually) in an effort to get some “real life” feedback… good or bad. So they agreed to provide a DEEP discount to the first 100 customers who wanted to give the new line a try.
Here’s the part about the awesome deal:
We put together an “Evaluation Pack” which includes each new product in the line, plus a 2oz version of the original Softening Solution. This product package is on-sale to the FIRST 100 CUSTOMERS ONLY for $45 (plus free shipping inside the US). That’s a savings of more than $97!! But once the first 100 packs are gone, that’s it; you’ll never see these products offered at this price again. For real, this isn’t some lame marketing ploy, I promise J
We will be sending out an email (probably next week) making the “official” announcement to our entire client list… but since we love all you good people who participate in our Community we wanted to give you first dibs on getting one of these Evaluation Packs before everybody else finds out.
All we ask is that you share your feedback here on the board, let us (and Nearly Natural) know what you like, what you don’t etc.
Here's the link: http://www.hairdirect.com/store/nearly-natural.aspx
To summarize: The Evaluation Pack includes EVERY new product just released by Nearly Natural in one bundle, discounted from $142.06 to only $45 (with free shipping inside the US). We only have 100 available so get yours now before this awesome deal runs out.
Enjoy!

Hair Direct: "The ultimate lost and found".
These products are really great!!
My favourite from this line is the Natural Sheen spray (moisturizing natural oil replenisher and pre-therman mist). I spray on the hair before using the hairdryer and it makes it really shiny and soft, without looking greasy.
Another one I really like is "Sooth-e frizz control".
The shampoos and conditioners smell devine, the Silk protein shampoo and conditioner smell vanilla-ish, and the soy ones smell like coconut (reminds me of endless days on the beach)
And I think the price HD charges for the whole lot is really good, these products definately worth their money
For the first time in my life, I'm not alone in this...
Guys/Gals
Great to see that you are enjoying the new products and letting us know which product combinations you like . Big thumbs upto Hair Direct for making the eval pak available !
So far I have only used the Silk Protein Shampoo and Conditioner because my hair, even though it's brand new, was already matting terribly a week after I got it. I've been using the conditioner everyday and love it though it smells so good I want to eat it too :) It has really helped. I use the softening solution as well. My hair still tangles and mattes but not as badly. I have been using the Moisture Mist too but can't tell if it's working or not. I didn't use it yesterday as a test but I can't really tell a difference. I have only used it about 7 times though and the bottle is half gone which is disappointing, but I have very long hair. I'm not sure if I even need a leave-in conditioner since I purposely don't rinse the regular conditioner all the way out. Anyway, I do like this combo better than the KMS and Goldwell products I was using. Thanks!
CurlySue
Please - Although tempting- Please Dont eat the Silk Protein Conditioner
Looks like we have you almost to the point of having the exceptional hair that you are looking for. Sometimes longer hair requires a bit extra effort to find the perfect combination . Bald&Beautiful mentioned above one of our products called Natural Sheen that she is using which works well on longer hair especially if you use a hair dryer or curling device very often - it protects the hair adding back the correct fraction of natural oils hair replacement lacks - helping to get back that silky/sexxy look(without the greasy look/feel) -(And it smells great too )
If you would like to try our Natural Sheen product email me at info@thenearlynaturalcollection.com . You can report back to the forum your experience after you have tried it on your longer hair (If the long hair wearers find Natural Sheen useful we may be able to have it available through HD) .You may find the natural oils of Natural Sheen more useful in preventing tangles/matting than leave in conditioner alone. Thank you for your input !
Hi CurlySue,
I used to have the same problem with tangling and matting, esp at the back of neck, since my hair is long. I ended up pulling half the hair out of my hairpiece, in order to get rid of the tangles. I tried tons of products, cheap ones, expensive ones, home remedies, in order to fix it , but nothing was making much of a difference.
Then I decided to use the bleach and ammonia method described on HD's web page, and I could kick myself for now trying it sooner! The tangles and matting not only disappeared, but this method prevented them from happening again! And the hair felt really soft. I wore that piece for a month after the bleach bath, and I didn't get a single tangle!!!!
A SUGGESTION TO HD: Use the bleach and ammonia bath ON ALL hairpieces before being shipped to your clients. Some of your clients might not know about it, get frustrated with the tangling and the matting and eventually turn to other companies for hairpieces.
Hi B&B-
Do you have curly hair? I'm just curious because I've had straight units too that did not have the tangling problem. I prefer the curly units because my own hair is very curly and if I'm wearing a straight unit and then it's humid or rains or I sweat my own hair curls up underneath and looks very silly :) In my other post in the women's forum we are discussing the Clorox Ammonia solution. Have you ever tried or had any luck with the baking soda solution? It seems less damaging. Please read my last post http://www.hairdirect.com/community/forums/thread/12118.aspx and let me know what you think or what your experience has been with any damage caused by the bleach ammonia method. Thanks so much.
By the way, I think HD should seal the knots before they send the units out too! Seems reasonable. I just tried that knot sealer stuff and wow, is it potent! Yikes!
Hi CurlySue!
My hair is straight, and the cut and length is the same as the picture on the left. The color is light brown with blonde highlights. Unfortunately, all my HD units had a tangling problem, until I decided to try the bleach- ammonia solution on my last unit.
Bleach is what the hairdryers use to lighten the hair color. If the hair color of your previous units changed, it probably means that they either used too much bleach or left the unit in the solution for too long. I followed the instructions described on HD's web page very carefully, and I can assure you, I didn't notice a change in the hair color. Why don't you experiment on an old hairpiece first ? Cut some hair as "color sample", do the bleach- ammonia bath, and then compare the color after the bath with the hair sample you kept, to see if there's a difference. I'm saying this because my hair color is light, and it makes sense that dark colors are more affected by bleach than light ones. So, just to be on the safe side, experiment on an old hairpiece first and compare the before and after color.
Also, on my old hairpiece I only had to do the bleach bath once, and I never got tangling problems again!
I also was fortunate enough to receive a package of Nearly Natural products from HD. I gave a few products over a month's worth of use and really like the ones I tried. Both the soy shampoo and conditioner are great ... along with the silk protein shampoo and conditioner. I was a bit skeptical of the "soy" products but they are really good and I'll continue to buy them. I used the Softening Solution (along with the NN conditioners) about every other shampoo and it is by far the best conditioner I ever used! I literally couldn't believe how silky the hair felt after I rinsed the conditioner off. The Moisture Mist really worked well as a leave in conditioner, but I found that using too much made my hair feel "heavy". A light mist is all it takes to do the job. Another product I tried is the Collagen Gel Spray. Although I am not much of a gel person, it gave me a good hold but not a real "hard" feel. Once again, a little goes a long way. I did notice that I needed to shampoo the next day after using this product. The hair seemed to lose some of its softness after using it, so plan on washing it out soon after you use it. I was impressed because it is alcohol free. I'm going to give the soft touch styling cream a try ... perhaps it works like a gel, but keeps it a bit softer. The final product I tried was the Sooth-e Frizz Control, but I didn't use it on my system. I tried it on my own hair because it tends to get a bit frizzy as it gets longer. It worked really well and I'll certainly continue to use it.
I have a feeling that the NN product line will be HD's biggest seller as more people try it. I also believe they are the most gentle products you can buy for hair replacements. One last note ... I like the size of the bottles also. It's easy to take them with you on vacation or to pack them in your gym bag when going to the health club. They are concentrated enough to go a long way, which allows the bottles to be smaller.

These products are amazing, they are a treat. Nearly Natural have done their research and come out with a great line up of products that compliment our haircare. The shampoos what can i say, when i tried them out I thought wow, they work really well, and the smell is nice. It must be me, but if a shampoo and conditioner smells good it works good.
The gels, whilest i usually dont use them , i am right now, i am wearing a new piece after my old one well was a lil on the worn side. It gives a great firm hold and washes out easy.
Whats my favourite product, it comes in a little metal bottle, it has a spray pump and is formulated with light oils to condition the hair. A little is better than alot, it smells nice.
Thanks HairDirect for adding a great line up of products to the lists that we already have.
If its not HairDirect on top then its just not worth it.
I have been religiously using the Silk Protein Shampoo and Conditioner over the last month and am now using them on a new unit. At first I was disappointed by the small size of the bottles but don't be deceived! My hair is 15 inches long and in one month I am only 1/3 of the way through the shampoo and 1/2 almost of the conditioner. I condition ever day and shampoo about every 3-4. It's true that with this stuff a little goes a long way. I'm quite surprised actually!
I did a reattach today and wanted to try one of the other combos while it was off of my head. I tried the Hydrating Moisture Soy Shampoo and Conditioner and my hair feels SO soft and clean! It almost feels like I used a really good clarifying shampoo.
I am very grateful to Nearly Natural for trying to make products with our special needs in mind! Thanks!
