Factory Closing: Chinese New Year

Hi everyone, we wanted to give advanced notice about an upcoming factory closing that may cause orders to be delayed. This closing is due to the Chinese New Year celebrations and will affect not only our factory, but a large number of businesses throughout China.

Some background for those who are interested…

The Chinese Year, 4705, begins on February 18^th. It is divided into 12 months of either 29 or 30 days. Extra months are added to the calendar at regular intervals to adjust to the solar year. The years are arranged in cycles of 60 and as you probably know, on the Chinese calendar each year is named after one of 12 animals. At the moment we are about to transfer from the year of the dog to the year of the pig.

The Chinese New Year is the longest and most important celebration in China. Festivities typically include fireworks, parades, and lantern festivals in which thousands of lanterns light the way to the New Year.

As a result of these festivities, we may experience 1-2 weeks delays in our orders over the next 2 months. We will do all we can to minimize these delays. At any rate we are wishing our Chinese friends 4705 to be the happiest and best year they ever had.
