Sometimes when a relatively new client receives their hair system, he looks in the mirror and is shocked at how dark the color appears. He immediately packs it up and sends it back for a remake or to make the system lighter. We receive it and check the original color specifications to find that the color is exactly the same as his previous system. He'll even swear that his hair color was never that dark. Oxidation (hair color lightening) is a slow process. This is because it is so gradual it goes unnoticed. Then, when he gets his new hair system and holds them side by side, the new unit looks dark in comparison. When we get a brand new hairpiece back that the customer feels is too dark, we will try to talk him or her into accepting the color it should be from the start. If the client really wants his new hair system to look exactly like the old one, that's easy enough for us to do. All we need to do is lighten it a bit, and then he is comfortable. But in the future, subsequent new hair systems would need to be lighter and lighter, until eventually a medium brown color would become a strawberry blond and will look unnatural. Of course, oxidation is a rarely a problem when the hair systems are replaced or maintained on a regular basis, so this is never an issue with the majority of our clients (especially those who enjoy standing order discounts... hehe). Have a great hair day, Bill
