So, you want to know more about this "sticky" topic? If I started typing everything I know about glues, tapes, clips and sprays, you would be reading this blog for the next decade! In order to spare you the agony - I'm going to start with what I have found to be the best attachment methods. First - the disclaimer - these work for many people. They may not be the best for you. The only way you will find out what works for you is through experience. This is definitely part of the "learning curve" you read about so often.
So, let's start with the basics...first we need a "unit" - don't ask me why they are called that, it makes me giggle every time! I'm going to use a full lace base for this example. I have compiled a table that lists (and grades) what I believe are the top five methods of attachment for a full lace base. The criteria used for this table was extensive and it can certainly be shared. If you are curious about how each score was calculated, just comment and I will try my best to answer your questions!

It should be obvious that I consider the combination of Supertape and HD Hi-Def Bond to be the winner! Do you have a favorite that is different? Tell me about it! There will be more about the "how to" with adhesives in an upcoming post!
Until then, have a great hair day - I'm going out to the pool with Mickey Mouse!
Babe
Well that pretty-much sums it up!
sorry I'm New, Where on the unit do you HD High def. hope I don't sound to silly
No need for apology funnyboy! I'm getting ready to post a blog today about the method I use. In the meantime, I use the hi-def glue right in the front from temple to temple, but only 1/8" wide, then the supertape is behind it...I'll try to draw a picture for you to visualize. This is a great place for a "newbie" to learn, there is a ton of support for you! Good luck!
So, do you put the Hd High deg directly on the lace or tape underneath??
Hi Babe
I posted elsewhere but just found I could post here. I have ordered the hi def adhesive. I want to try the combo. If my eyes fail me and I go wider than 1/8 is that okay? Can the super tape overlap the hi def and still work?? My edge is always visible with just the tape. The unit sits just about 1/8 in behind my thin hairline. I would like to set it further back if I can grow enough hair there! Former techs have always placed it so close to my hairline, I think that is part of my problem. at to have to wear bangs all the time!
Thanks for all you do,
Nellie
Hi there! I just wrote a new blog that will hopefully answer all of your questions! The Hi-Def glue doesn't go "on the unit"...you apply the glue directly to your scalp where you want your unit to form your new hairline. It's definitely ok for the supertape to overlap where you placed the glue. That just makes the bond even stronger! Like you Nellie, I have a natural hairline. I've been doing a lot of experiments though and depending on the outcome, I may just decide to do without it! I'll let you know how it goes...
Have a great hair day,
Hi Babe!
Thank you for your help. OMG - are you going to shave your natural hairline???? Why? I know the men's front lace looks so natural and undetectable - is that why?? My unit is so very detectable in front. I will try your method of HiDef Adhesive and tape and see how it works for me. I have an appointment at HD on May 6th. Flying up from Florida. Just feel I need help!!
Not born with hair, but I've got the intelligence to find it, the job to pay for it, the patience to "stick" it on just right, the will to make it work, the confidence to wear it boldly and the smile to wear under it!
