Choosy...very choosy!!!

Saturday, June 23, 2007 11:53 PM

Wow...another crazy day.  You know, choosing a home is a very tiring, especially when you are as choosy as I am!  Goodness gracious!!!  Over the past few months, I have researched almost five hundred homes.  First, I filter all of the listings on the internet to fit with what I am looking for.  Price, number of bedrooms, bathrooms, acreage, location...  Next, I look at the pictures of each home.  After I see some of interest, I click on the entire listing to read it.  Out of those I read, I drive past the properties to see if the location is a fit.  Finally, I narrow it down to the few that are left and make an appointment to see them.

After walking through approximately one hundred homes over the past two months, I have a very good idea of exactly the type of home, location, price and features we are looking for.  The offers we have made were all fair and reasonable.  The first one came to the closing table and disclosed there that the property was in the flood zone...YIKES!  The second one we made an offer on, was actually going through closing as we walked through it!  The third one must have had gold hidden in the walls for the price they were asking - and needless to say, they were probably insulted by our lack of enthusiasm to pay full asking price.

But - I still haven't given up on finding the perfect home for our family.  I think we have seen several that would work just wonderfully for us, but for a variety of reasons, it just wasn't a perfect fit.  Not only has this project been daunting, it has kept me much busier than I expected.  However, it is getting much easier.  Why???  Well, I believe it's because I am sorting through what is available until I find perfection. I will know it when I experience it and I'm not going to stop until I find it.

Ok, ok, I know what you are thinking...Geez Babe, what in the world does this have to do with hair???

It has everything to do with hair.

Consider this...

There are hundreds of different choices we need to make in order to find our "perfect" hair.  We have to choose the base --  HD 03, 24, C-thru, Poly, Lacefront...etc.  We have to choose the color - highlights - gray percentage - blend...  We have to choose the density - very light, light, medium, heavy...  We need to pick the length, the style, the curl, the type of hair, the size of our units...the list goes on and on.

We could "research" these choices for months to try to get our first order just perfect!   But the reality is that there are probably many of these combinations of hair, color, density and type of base that will work for us.  You may not "walk through" the perfect fit on your first order, just like the homes I have looked at.  The great news is that when you order and receive your first unit, you will wear it excitedly.  After wearing it for some time, you may notice that there are things you would like better.  So on your next "walk through", you order those changes to try out the next one...and then next one...and the next one...

Eventually, guess what happens??????  You have experienced enough "walk throughs" to know exactly what your perfection is.  Now, you have the perfect fit, hair, base, color, style, length, density....the perfect hair!  You can't get there by researching for a year.  You can't get there by praying for a perfect choice the first time.  You can only get there by jumping in and giving it a try.  There isn't anything to lose...you know there is a money back guarantee in case it's not exactly what you wanted!  So do yourself a favor and start your "walk throughs"!  It will bring you that much closer to finding the perfect fit for yourself!

Today, we submitted an offer on another house.  It may just be the perfect fit.  Cross your fingers and wish us well...real estate doesn't offer a money back guarantee!

Sweet dreams on your satin pillowcases,

Babe

About Babe with a Mane

My natural hair has not been seen for over 20 years. It has hidden under wigs and weaves, under toppik, colored sprays, couvre and dermatch. My growing hair is a significant burden. It takes too much time to try to fix it up to be presentable, too much money to try to fix, too much energy to worry about and conceal. Every day, I used to wish for great hair. Every day I was ashamed of my thin hair. Every day, I woke up feeling confident, feminine and sexy inside. Then, I looked in the mirror at my natural hair and those positive thoughts were robbed from me. My natural hair forced me to feel unattractive, timid and insecure. I know who I am inside and I wanted to project that image to everyone else. To do that, my hair had to change. Women who are bald or have very thin hair, are not considered "socially acceptable" in the general public's eye. I wanted to be considered socially acceptable, my natural hair wouldn't let me. My dream hair allows me to lead a normal life. I wake up to my guy nuzzling my neck while my soft hair is brushed aside. I jump in the shower to wash my hair. I look in the mirror to see a confident and sexy woman, looking back at me. I don't waste hours trying to disguise myself to fit in. I blow dry and curl my hair and go to work with a spring in my step. I don't catch others staring at my thin hair while trying to have a conversation with me. The same confident, self assurance that I feel inside is now projected on the outside. There are no further internal battles between true persona and an incongruous outward appearance. I am finally, after a lifetime of dreaming, able to project an image that reflects the confident, sexy, intelligent, feminine woman I truly am.

Babe with a Mane

Not born with hair, but I've got the intelligence to find it, the job to pay for it, the patience to "stick" it on just right, the will to make it work, the confidence to wear it boldly and the smile to wear under it!
